This album was recorded in Paris on June 23, 1969 during the Art Ensemble's initial days in France with just a quartet (Roscoe Mitchell, Lester Bowie, Malachi Favors, and Joseph Jarman). A shockingly formalist album though far from conventional in any way. Also available on CD (SPOT 543).
