Suicide is an American musical duo formed in 1970 in New York City by vocalist Alan Vega and instrumentalist Martin Rev. Known for their pioneering use of minimalist electronic instrumentation and provocative performances, Suicide is often credited as one of the first acts to use the term "punk music" to describe their sound. Their music blends elements of punk, electronic, and synth-pop, characterized by Rev's repetitive, pulsating synth lines and drum machines, combined with Vega's haunting, rockabilly-inspired vocals. A Way of Life is their third studio album, released in 1988. This album marked a return after a long hiatus and showed the duo continuing to evolve their distinctive sound. Produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars, who also produced their second album, "A Way of Life" combines the raw, minimalist intensity of their earlier work with a more polished and accessible production.
