180 gram LP + bonus CD of the album
The name Chuck Berry and rock & roll are synonyms. Without Chuck Berry, there would be no rock & roll. So to call Chuck Berry’s debut LP “seminal” is a bit of an understatement. This album, originally released on the fledgling Chess Records in 1957, was Chuck Berry’s first long playing album (after a slew of hit singles), and only the second ever for the label. Chuck Berry got Chess to sign him by playing a demo of, none other than “Maybellene”…and the book of Genesis in the Bible of rock & roll was written.
