WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
Just before Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon hit the songwriting bullseye - three top 20 hits in 1967 with the Turtles - they clutched at the brass ring with their own NYC combo, the Magicians. Adding Greenwich Village folkies "Jake" Jacobs (later of Bunky & Jake) and John Townley, the Magicians were groomed to be the next Lovin' Spoonful. Showing "dance with who brung ya" savvy, however, the New Yorkers spotlighted the tasty songs of the future hitmaking duo along with the soulful pipes of Bonner before an instrumental backdrop that ranged from jangly folk-rock to grungy, Diddley-inspired raves. We're proud to present the Magicians' legendary unissued Columbia album
