Eric Andersen, like so many other American folk singers, has long been in the shadow of the immortal Robert Zimmerman. After spending some time in San Francisco in the early 60's Andersen joined the Greenwich Village folk scene in 1964 and had his first release out on Vanguard the following year. Unfairly pegged, again like so many others, as a "new Dylan" Andersen struggled to be accepted as a powerful songwriter in his own right. After a five album stint at Vanguard, which included his classic 'Bout Changes & Things, Andersen moved over to Warner Bros. in 1969 and subsequently released Avalanche and Eric Andersen. Available on CD for the very first time, these two albums, though mostly ignored in 1969, have subsequently become sought after collector's items beloved for their heartfelt songs and classic arrangements. Two folk singer-songwriter classics back in print!
