You just have to mention the incredibly huge list of musicians that contribute some parts on this PINK FLOYD tribute, to make this album becoming an absolute must-have for every music lover ! Judge by yourself: Chris SQUIRE (YES), Tommy SHAW (STYX), Alex LIGERTWOOD (SANTANA), Edgar WINTER, Mike BAIRD (JOURNEY), Tony LEVIN (KING CRIMSON and Peter GABRIEL), Ritchie KOTZEN (POISON), Jason SCHEFF (CHICAGO), Dweezil ZAPPA, Jeff Scott SOTO (Yngwie MALMSTEEN), Tony KAYE (YES) and Tony FRANKLIN (THE FIRM). Don’t forget to mention Aynsley DUNBAR (JOURNEY), Glenn HUGHES (DEEP PURPLE), Elliot EASTON (THE CARS), Derek SHERINIAN (DREAM THEATER), Alan WHITE (YES), Fee WAYBILL (THE TUBES), David Glen EISLEY, Doug PINNICK (KING’S X), Robben FORD, Mike PORCARO (TOTO) and Greg BISSONETTE. Want more ? Billy SHERWOOD (YES), Steve LUKATHER (TOTO), Ronnie MONTROSE, Gary HOEY, Scott WALTON, Bruce KULICK (KISS), Bobby KIMBALL (TOTO), Vinnie COLAIUTA (Frank ZAPPA & THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION), Marco MENDOZA (THIN LIZZY), Robin McAULEY (GRAND PRIX), Bob KULICK (KISS), Steve PORCARO, Phil SOUSSAN (Ozzy OSBOURNE), Eric SINGER (KISS), Jimmy HASLIP, Scotty PAGE (PINK FLOYD Live), Pat TORPEY (Mr BIG) and Jeff BAXTER (THE DOOBIE BROTHERS)… Despite all those prestigious names, "Pigs And Pyramids" (2002) deserves way better than a good place, even if that's one of the most important, in a discography: this album was created to stay in perpetual rotation on your hi-fi system, and can be listened to as an independant piece of work. What a pleasure to hear once again the "Money" cashbox sound, the "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" etheral guitar sound or the "Another Brick In The Wall - Part Two" famous leitmotiv ! The artists that didn’t take part of Billy SHERWOOD’s & Bob KULICK’s little party might regret it dearly now !!! And you, are you going to miss that unique opportunity ?!?... Quite rare are the albums that marked their era far beyond the music world. "The Wall" of course takes part of this legendary cast. After a first tribute to PINK FLOYD called "Pigs And Pyramids", the Musea label now focuses more particularly on the legendary double-album released at the end of the glorious Seventies. Every title of "Back Against The Wall" (2005) is a cover of each original track, kept in the same order, but performed in a personal and very consistent way. The project manager of this pharaonic work is again Billy SHERWOOD (YES), who gathered a team worthy of the Olympus of Rock N' Roll: Chris SQUIRE (YES), John WETTON (KING CRIMSON, UK, URIAH HEEP...), Geoff DOWNES (ASIA, YES and THE BUGGLES), Steve MORSE (DEEP PURPLE, KANSAS, THE DIXIE DREGS...), Ian ANDERSON (JETHRO TULL), Keith EMERSON (EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER), Steve HOWE (YES), Adrian BELEW (KING CRIMSON and TALKING HEADS), Rick WAKEMAN (YES), Gary GREEN (GENTLE GIANT), Tommy SHAW (STYX), Tony LEVIN (KING CRIMSON and Peter GABRIEL), Jason SCHEFF (CHICAGO), Dweezil ZAPPA, Tony KAYE (YES), Tony FRANKLIN (THE FIRM), Aynsley DUNBAR (Frank ZAPPA & THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION and JOURNEY), Glenn HUGHES (DEEP PURPLE), Elliot EASTON (THE CARS), Alan WHITE (YES), Fee WAYBILL (THE TUBES), Mike PORCARO (TOTO), Greg BISSONNETTE, Steve LUKATHER (TOTO), Ronnie MONTROSE, Bob KULICK (KISS), Larry FAST (Peter GABRIEL and SYNERGY), Elliot EASTON (THE CARS), John GIBLIN (BRAND X), Vinnie COLAIUTA (Frank ZAPPA & THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION), Michael SHERWOOD, Jay SCHELLEN (WORLD TRADE), David Glenn EISLEY (HOUSE OF LORDS), Alex LIGERTWOOD (SANTANA) and Robbie KRIEGER (THE DOORS). When it's as high as this, adding that Sir Malcolm McDOWELL, a British actor who played in the absolute cult-movie "Clockwork Orange", came to give his dramatic contribution on "The Trial" is nearly useless. Undoubtedly the premium musical event of this year 2005. In order to show their predominance on the market of neo Progressive with a tendency to heavy-metal, the label Angular launched in the year 2000 the recording of an excellent "Signs Of Life - A Tribute To Pink Floyd". Stefan H. KOST and Daniel STEPHAN encouraged their bands to propose a new performance of one of the famous British Pink Floyds. Next to well-known bands such as PENDRAGON, TIAMAT or ANGEL DUST can also be found some regular people of this German label (SYLVAN, CROMWELL, ZIFF, VANISHING POINT, PANGAEA, ETERNITY X and MEGACE), some Musea bands (SOLAR PROJECT and MYSTERY), some current Progressive rock and psychedelic scene stars (The former VIOLET DISTRICT that changed its name to become RPWL, FLYING CIRCUS and FANTASYY FACTORYY), as well as local bands that deserve a good hearing (DAS ZEICHEN, GRAND CROSS, THE CRACK OF DOOM, THE ELECTRIC FAMILY, LIQUID VISIONS and MINDALA). All the different eras of the famous band led by Syd BARRETT, Roger WATERS, David GILMOUR, Dave MASON and Richard WRIGHT are mentioned in this double album that, no doubt about it, will be remembered… The label Sysyphus, already associated to the issue of the digital version, has issued an exceptional edition made of two LP’s. Those collectors are limited to 1000 copies each… Sysyphus is the name of a German music magazine, and also of a young label definitely inspired by a PINK FLOYD track. It’s then not surprising to get the issue of "More Relics" (2001). Following the great double album “Signs Of Life” (2000) issued on the Angular label, this opus is a second and wonderful part of the tribute to the British PINK FLOYDS. This second part concentrates more particularly on the first period, that of the long psychedelic suites and rhythms. Quite logically, this “Sysyphus” is the first track, and benefits from the flawless interpretation by Rüdiger GLEISBERG. Remarkable tracks by Mr QUIMBY’S BEARD, FANTASYY FACTORYY, INVISIBLE UNIT, LIQUID VISIONS, SULA BASSANA et MASTERKEY follow it. We can also put some stress on the excellent "Fat Old Sun" by RPWL, a German band about to be revealed thanks to the imminent issued of their second album "Trying To Kiss The Sun". The peak is finally reached with the more than 23 minute long "Echoes", wonderfully performed by SOLAR PROJECT. Beyond the tribute, this album can be heard as such, in continuity. This makes it an indispensable album in the discography of GILMOUR, BARRETT, WATERS, WRIGHT & MASON… Contrary to other Magna Carta tributes, this one’s objective was to re-perform as faithfully as possible, without breaks and in order, the nine pieces included in the mythical “Dark Side Of The Moon”, this all-time favourite originally issued in 1973.
