A hugely popular young band from Australia, The Easybeats shook the world with 'Friday On My Mind', an intense and
catchy song that expressed the frustrations of Sixties youth. Inspired by The Beatles, The Easybeats were also caught up
in the wave of pop hysteria, their records selling in millions.
Founder members Harry Vanda, Dick Diamonde, Steve Wright, George Young and Gordon 'Snowy' Fleet all originally came
from Europe, but formed The Easybeats in Sydney, Australia in 1964. They enjoyed many hits 'down under' before relocating
to England in 1966.
This 'Best Of' CD collection features 20 essential single and album tracks, recorded during their stay in London with
producer Shel Talmy.
A special bonus track features Stevie Wright singing on his solo single 'Evie'.
This splendid compilation shows just how cheerfully The Easybeats combined pop with rock'n'roll and soul at the height
of their rocketing career.
Includes rare solo single bonus track.
Booklet with authoritative and extensive
liner notes by respected author and
journalist Chris Welch, including quotes
from Harry Vanda.
Expertly remastered - superb sound quality.
