There's been a lot of buzz lately in collector circles about the "sunshine pop" sound of the late-'60s, the generally Southern California-based, slightly psychedelic, soft folk-rock vibe laid down by bands like the Association, Sagittarius, Free Design, etc., but what about the Sunshine Company? This band was the archetypal sunshine pop band—one can surmise that the name for the entire genre was derived from their monicker—yet there has never been any domestic compilation of their superb Imperial sides, even though they had three chart hits!
