blood & fire is a collection of niney's work from the early seventies, beginning with the 1970 smash hit that sent shockwaves through the reggae world (both for it’s killer riddim and rastafari themed lyrics) and jumpstarted niney’s career as one of the most important (if less celebrated) producers/artists in reggae, to 1974’s stark “tribulation dub” recorded in london with the cimarons during dennis brown’s first trip to the uk featured here are the artists that recorded with and for niney during this period when the observer’s career as a producer was first gaining momentum. including max romeo (who along with niney and lee perry helped lay the foundation for roots music), the already veteran ken boothe, big youth, delroy wilson and dennis brown (the voice), among others.
