Imagine Florence, Italy c. 1980: the renaissance is long since dead and buried, and in its place are nothing but ghosts. Cobwebs on every street corner and in every soul. The city has become a frozen memorial to the past. Yet, among the crumbling palazzos and peeling frescoes a few young dudes have found a secret tunnel connecting them to the sounds of Kraftwerk and the electro gothic new wave echoes of Middle Europe. Leaving the punk revolution to the fashionites, they engage in an incredibly seminal sound which we are proud to collect and document on this special edition box set. The entire discography of early Neon (1980-1986) is found here, with an extensive 16-page booklet of photos, lyrics and detailed liner notes.
