LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Originally released in 1992, Burzum is the debut album by the Norwegian solo project of Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh) and one of the defining recordings of the second wave of black metal. Combining primitive production, haunting melodies, raw guitar work and anguished vocals, the album established many of the characteristics that would shape the genre while creating a uniquely bleak and atmospheric sound.

Despite its abrasive intensity, the album is marked by a strong sense of melancholy and isolation, contrasting violent outbursts with eerie ambient passages. This limited grey marble vinyl edition from Back On Black faithfully reissues the landmark debut, preserving one of the most influential and controversial releases in extreme metal history.
