Considered as one of the most original Chilean bands as far as Progressive rock is concerned, EXSIMIO is composed of a rather unusual line-up in the genre, comprising a rhythmic section and two guitarists. In spite of the absence of keyboards, the search of new sounds is constant, highlighting dialogues between instruments. Some sporadic words can be heard, sung in Spanish. The band claims to be influenced by KING CRIMSON, RUSH or PRIMUS, without forgetting to initiate the innovative concept of "evolving" Progressive rock. Released both on the Musea and Mylodon labels, the second album "Carbono 14" (2005) seems to be determined to reuse the basis of the true KING CRIMSON-like art. And this is achieved brilliantly ! This is undoubtedly one of the most promising bands of the present scene: should you miss it ?
