LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

An excellent album from Mr Willie, recorded few years before he moved to Verve Records, with a sound that's a bit more Latin than his later works, very influenced with all the sense of rhythm, groove and jazzy inflection that you'll find on Willie's best work. Its very curious to note the fact that there's not much singing or cover versions on that album (something more common on Willie'slater works), and the album's got some great original numbers like "Bobo Do That Thing", "A La Bobita", "Azulito", "Chickadee", "Rigor Mortis", "Ritmo Tymbale", and "Grab Your Hat". A great groover, and one of his most dificult records to find on vinyl!.
