In the 50s, Buck Owens was a hot Telecaster picker who travelled south from Bakersfield to the Capitol Building, Vine Street, Hollywood to play on the occasional session, eventually signing to Capitol and having a decade long string of hits that commenced with "Under Your Spell Again" in 1959. Prior to his major label debut, Buck recorded numerous 45s for regional labels such as Bakersfield's Pep developing his twangy rock and roll influenced Bakersfield Sound. This set collects the best of his gritty early days.
