Big pop name artist in the US in the 60's. A four octave voice helped create truly memorable hits for him from his first release in 1962 with recordings that slot into a similar vein as Franki Valli & The Four Seasons. Much of Christie's Roulette and Buddah solo recordings have been reissued but RPM focuses on his Colpix material and in particular where he was backed by the girl group The Tammys. Christie also sang on the Tammys releases (The Ritchie and The Runarounds single is the Tammys under a pseudonym). In so doing we unearth some previously unreleased mixes and very rare recordings whilst not neglecting the main singles that helped maintain his profile in the mid 60's, including the big international smash The Gypsy Cried.
