Texas born Billy Preston was a musician already by the age of 1o, when heplayed keyboards for Mahalia Jackson. His strong talent and versatilitymade him a terrific keyboardist in all possible musical genres and varietiesof the instrument. This compilation takes its title from his years as asession man, when he also performed on the Beatles' Let It Be, but includesmuch more than his famous cover version of the title track. With 16 tracksranging from Smokey Robinson ("My Girl") to Holland/Dozier/Holland("Stop In The Name Of Love) to some of Preston's own finestcompositions, this collection states clearly who's "da man" who hits the keys.
