LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Theres one only word to describe this album; Boogaloo. Pete Rodriguez and his band certainly were one of the best combos of the golden Latin soul era, and this compilation certainly gets the strongests numbers. Hard funk and fastbeats all the way through. A fantastic album of Latin Soul the proof of why Pete was known as the "King Of The Boogaloo" during the 60s!. Every song sounds like if the group's having a non-stop party with very edgy and inspired playing with heavy piano lines, storming bass berhind the grooves, swinging timbales, and some shouted and catchy lyrics mostly in English. The cut, "I Like It Like That", is the sort of thing that you'll be singing all day -- even after hearing it only one time. The rest of the compilation is filled with all great cuts, thats guaranteed, including "Pete's Madness", Here Come The Judge , "Pete's Boogaloo", and the sort of I-like-it-like-that-pt.2 ; "Oh, That's Nice".
