Before going on to pursue a successful solo career, Don Carlos began his vocal career in the early seventies as one of the original members of the roots reggae group Black Uhuru. This collection, recorded in the late eighties with producer Bunny Lee, masterfully captures Carlos’ melodic roots vocal style, which accompanied by the all-star back up performances by Sly & Robbie and the Aggrovators, packs a solid one-two punch. Features the classic “Laser Beam”, “Spread Out”, “Ababa John I”, and the excellent title track. This is the talented Don Carlos at his peak.
