Few artists can point to a live album as being a career
defining moment. In the case of ROGER CHAPMAN
AND THE SHORT LIST not only was that the case but
Roger can point to two such albums-1979’s “Live In
Hamburg” and 1982’s “He Was…She Was…You
Was…We Was…” which consolidated his rock solid
German success and also opened up new European
territories for the band.
“Everything about “He Was She Was” set was great”
explains Roger Chapman. “In hindsight there were a
number of reasons for it working so well. The most
obvious one was that I had a settled band. The other
main reason was the efforts the Germans had put in,
leading up to both the Rockpalast TV shoot, and the
following tour which became the basis of this album”
This reissued 2CD set is a timely reminder of a great
vocalist and a great band who gloriously proved the
timeless appeal of quality rock music.
