Second album by SAMSON after their bluesy 1979 debut Survivor, and first tofeature Bruce Bruce on vocals (alias Bruce Dickinson, later with Iron Maiden),1980's Head On is this trio's first step into the arms of NWOBHM. Dickinson'saddition to the new line up of four brought a more defined personality and acool breeze of sheer HM tunes which created a spin of great expectation for thepress and helped define Paul Samson's guitar work as "imaginative and immensely fluid" and BruceDickinson's voice as "gut-busting".
