Kristin Hersh's efforts would sometimes outshine her work with College Rock band Throwing Muses, and her solo debut album 'Hips And Makers' is proof that she could stand strong alone as well as in a group.

Mostly acoustic and sparingly arranged, this album gives us an intimate look at Kristin's articulate songcraft.
The album is produced by Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), who also produced Suzanne Vega's work, and is one of the most personal of Kristin Hersh's oeuvre.

And riding on the duet she recorded with Michael Stipe's R.E.M., 'Your Ghost', this album was the biggest selling one, too.
