Crowns companion volume to "A RocknRoll Dance Party" (CDCHD 1119) now receives its own expanded makeover.
As with that CD, this package includes both versions of Crown LP 5010, with the 17 tracks that featured across both being augmented by a further nine tracks that have never been issued on an Ace CD before (and, in most cases, have never been issued before, period).
Many of the greatest names in 1950s West Coast R&B are featured here, as well as several of rocknrolls most enduring anthems.
As with CDCHD 1119, the cover replicates the original Crown album artwork, but inevitably the contents do sound somewhat better than they did on the old 98 cent, recycled vinyl Crown albums themselves.
