Four albums and major success in Germany later, Hardin then released his debut solo album Home Is Where You Find It on Decca in 1972. Leading up to this point Hardin had also been writing and producing recording with Ray Fenwick, for their own production company and leasing THE RESULTS TO Decca. One such result being the TV theme to childrens show Magpie, which they credited to a made up name The Murgatroyd Band. RPM have been able to add a couple of onus tracks from Hardin & Fenwick production stable of the period. Namely single they recorded together in ’72 as JAKE, and a second version of the album title track recorded with heart melting vocals from Vicky Brown and Margot Newman. For the Hardin album they captured a big sound at Olympic studios with full orchestration arranged by Phil Denys. On the band side Hardin was accompanied by a stellar cast; Pete York, Tony Newman, Ian Paice, Dee Murray, Ray Fenwick. This debut solo album has never been on CD, and never been reissued. It is an interesting collection of personal songs with Hardin in more reflective mood than he was in the Hammond grooving SDG or jazz rock Hardin & York, and with its piano driven basis more akin to Mike d’Abo at the time.
