Digipack CD Birth Control, the leading Germany progressive rock band was influencedby such British outfits as Deep Purple and Spooky Tooth.They started as a revolutionary student band in Cologne in the late Sixties, butlater moved to Berlin and released their first album in 1970. Birth Controlfeatured drummer and vocalist Bernd Noske and bass player Bernd Koschmidder.The band was completed by Reinhold Sobotta (organ) and Bruno Frenzei (guitar,vocals), who died in 1983.'Gamma Ray' was one of their classic jazz-rock instrumental pieces, that oftenran on for ten minutes in 'live' performances.
