Blues singer and guitar player Lonnie Johnson was persuaded to return to acoustic on this session with Victoria Spivey with whom he'd recorded back in the 1920s. They hit it off as if 32 years had been months. Their careers -both solo and as a duo -were reborn with their Prestige/Bluesville recordings, and they went on performing, occasionally as a duo, in old age.
