This second installment of Rev-Ola's "Phantom Jukebox" compendiums focuses on the progressive Los Angeles-based White Whale Records label. White Whale Records was formed in the summer of 1965, and their first single release was the Turtles' massive hit, "It Ain't Me, Babe." By 1971 due to various reasons White Whale was.... beached. However, in its mid-sixties heyday, White Whale made a strong impact as an indie, with hits from such disparate artists as The Clique, Nino and April, Lyme and Cybelle (featuring a young Warren Zevon), and their most successful act, the Turtles. Features rare photos and exclusive interviews with several of the original artists! Most of the 24 tracks on this collection make their debut here on CD! This has never before been releases on CD and has been remastered in the usual state of the art Rev-Ola style and comes with lavish booklet with photos and interviews.
