Originally formed in 1967 in Ann Arbor, MI, and relocatedto San Francisco the following year, they scored a top tenhit with "Hot Rod Lincoln" in 1972 but was never able tocapitalize on the single's success, partially because theiralbums never completely captured their live energy.Musically they were equally adept at stripped-down basicrock & roll, r&b, and gritty country rock.
