Jump blues vocalist and alto sax player, Joe Lutcher (brother of the more famous Nellie) was the hit maker of the original ‘Mardi Gras’ featured here, along with other R&B gems from the late 40s & early masters and alternates. 50s recorded for Modern Records, before he moved away from secular music entirely.
