Much jazzier and 'further out' than their 70s work,combining the raw groove of James Brown with the melodic talents and jazz influence of hornmen Ronald Bell, Robert Mickens and Dennis Thomas, the band gives a solid workout to songs such as "Raw Hamburger" and the excellent "Chocolate Buttermilk".
