WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
Morricone here is accompanied, as often happened in those years, by conductor Bruno Nicolai and singer Edda Dell'Orso. The soundtrack to this 1972 movie by Samy Pavel is entirely orchestral. Side 1 contains a long suite, composed of a series of variations on the main theme. Side 2, on the other hand, presents a brief interlude for solo voices, followed by another long composition that's quite unbelievable. You get 16 minutes of ongoing tension generated by string instruments only, with sporadic contributions from tribal percussion, dissonant piano chords and notes, and darkened choirs. The LP is pressed on 180-gram solid white vinyl.
