Mysterious and fascinating, the music of Yma Sumac is experiencing a much deserved revival, thanks to the rediscovery of the “exotica” genre. Legend of the Sun Virgin, released in 1954, can be considered one of Yma Sumac’s most theatrical albums, and thanks to the suggestive atmospheres created by composer Moises Vivanco (a fixture on many Yma Sumac albums) one of the most interesting albums in the genre.
