These two albums, remarkably now appearing for the first time ever as a 2 on 1 CD, were originally released in 1973 and 1974 on the Island record label. Bryn has been called a 'musician's musician' - a first class rock musician whose music has its roots in blues and r&b. He plays guitar and mandolin and is particularly recognised as a remarkable exponent of the slide (or bottleneck) guitar. His is a more gentle and mellow approach than others, which beautifully compliments his highly melodic songs. He came to London from Lancashire in the late sixties to join Fleur de Lys, a motown/soul band which became house band for Atlantic Records in England. When the band folded, Bryn travelled to California and from there toured extensively in the US in various American bands, including the Jackie Lomax Band, and Wolfgang, a band put together and managed by the legendary Bill Graham. In 1973 he returned to England and was signed to Island records where he made his first LP 'Let The Days Go By'. He recorded a further album for Island, ( 'Sunny Side Of The Street'), and then continued his career as a solo recording artist with A&M Records where he recorded 'Grand Arrival' (in Nashville with J.J.Cale's producer Audie Ashworth) and 'Keep The Ball Rolling'. He has recorded with top musicians including Chris de Burgh, Joan Armatrading, Ian Mathews and Gerry Rafferty. Amongst his latest sessions have been those for Gerry Rafferty on his recent albums. 'Let The Days Go By'features former King Crimson member Gordon Haskell on bass (big hit in 2002 with 'How Wonderful You Are'), John 'Rabbitt' Bundrick (Johnny Nash, Bob Marley, Free, and since 1979 the Who's keyboard player), Pete Wingfield as well as members of the Grease Band and Kokomo. John Porter, featured here on guitar and who toured with Bryn to promote this release, has subsequently gone on to play on recordings by or produce/engineer artists as diverse as Ryan Adams, The Smiths, Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music, Ozzy Osbourne, The Alarm, Jools Holland, Billy Bragg, Taj Mahal and B.B. King among others and numerous soundtracks. 'Sunny Side'features several members of Fairport Convention - Dave Swarbrick, Dave Pegg, Dave Mattacks, as well as Madeleine Bell, Pete Wingfield, Chris Stainton on Keyboards (appeared recently on 'Concert For George' DVD as well as several Eric Clapton LPs) as well as members of Kokomo. Bryn has been interviewed for sleevenote and will be overseeing the remastering too.
