Recorded shortly prior to Davis' magnum opus, the best-selling jazz record of all time, "Kind Of Blue" and featuring the musicians from that seminal session, making it one of the best quintet's of all time: John Coltrane (tenor sax), Wynton Kellly on piano, Paul Chambers (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums). Featuring "So What", often cited as one of Davis' best works, and indeed one of the best in jazz, along with inspired versions of Monk's classic "Round Midnight" and Dorsey's "On Green Dolphin Street". Recorded live in 1958.
