WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
Recorded live in 1976 at "Buddy's Place", the upbeat swing of Clark Terry's big band made the event a memorable one for all who attended. Surrounded by a 16 piece big band (which included musicians Frank Weiss, Ernie Wilkins, Ed Soph and Ronnie Mathews, among others), Clark Terry's reperertoire ranges from Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges, to the compositions arranged and written by Ernie Wilkins. The resulting work, in celebration of the sacred men of jazz (Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Quincy Jones, Gerry Mulligan, etc), has left a lasting sign thanks to the talents of this great band leader and trombone player. A great success for the Vanguard/Universe label. 7 tracks.
