Pere Ubu’s appearance in San Francisco at the Fox Warfield Theater in 1980, recalls their early poise in punk rock, but with abstract definition. The ambitious new wave touring project Urgh! Co-ordinated by Miles Copeland would capture the likes of Pere Ubu in this period, but the significance of this early show promises so much more than any package tour could promise.

Drawing on their new album The Art Of Walking while recalling shots of Dub Housing and The Modern Dance, David Thomas is joined by the deconstructing guitar of Mayo Thompson of 60s avant-garde provocateurs Red Krayola for a set that leaves conventional rock, lying bleeding. Interference proudly presents the entire original KSJO FM broadcast of Pere Ubu live from Fox Warfield Theater, San Francisco on 15th August 1980.
