Best-known for their respective contributions to the music of Miles Davis and Weather Report, Gil Evans and Jaco Pastorius are true giants of 20th Century jazz and fusion.

This rare collaboration, performed at Yomiuri Land Open Theater East, Tokyo, Japan on July 28th 1984, finds them both at the peak of their powers, driving each other on to new heights. Sadly, they would both be dead within four years but it stands as a remarkable testament to their genius.
