This 1968 release was produced by Jimmy Bowen, who produced one hit album after another for Dean Martin and 'Strangers in the Night' for Frank Sinatra two years earlier. So this album seemed destined for big things, yet it never reached the charts, its title tune just scraping the Hot 100 at #93. Still, there are some prime Sammy performances here, particularly on 'Children, Children; All That Jazz; We’ll Be Together Again', and 'Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye'. Other tracks include 'Up, Up and Away' (the swingingest version ever recorded!); 'Lonely Is the Name; Shake, Shake, Shake; Uptight/You’ve Got Your Troubles', and 'Don’t Take Your Time' on an album that didn’t quite click commercially…but then, Sammy’s misses are a lesser artist’s triumphs!
