Recently hailed by Record Collector magazine as the finest vocalist you've never heard, Claire Hamill has enjoyed a long and varied career as one of Britain's finest female singer songwriters. Signing to Island Records in 1971 at the age of 17, she made a series of wonderful albums in the 1970's. The singer Eva Cassidy covered Claire's 'You Take My Breath Away' and Claire's influence extends to artists such as Kate Bush.
In the 1980's Claire's music embraced the ambient movement and following work with artists such as Jon & Vangelis, Claire recorded the wonderful album Voices, a record featuring solely vocal sounds that topped the UK New Age Chart and was the soundtrack to BBC TVs Domesday series. She followed this in 1988 with the equally excellent song based Love In The Afternoon, featuring the classic Trees .
