Who were The Fishfaces?” you may ask. They were a fantastic Finnish rock and roll band, started by singer Ilari “Claude” Peltola in the early nineties, as he rose from the ashes of his previous band, the influential Smack. Fishfaces came to an end some years later, when Claude left the planet. Lovesongs for Hyenas is the brilliant yet sadly neglected debut album by this group of unsung heroes. Svart Records present the album’s vinyl debut in gatefold covers and paired with a repro of the group’s debut single Long Lost Love.
