NEIL was co-founder of the legendary BONZO DOG (DOO DAH) BAND and formed THE WORLD after the first break-up of The Bonzos.THE WORLD was an altogether more conventional rock group than Neil’s earlier outfit but still featured a warped sense of humour that Neil was to develop in the better known RUTTLES which Neil concocted a few short years later.The one album (with bonus singles tracks) “Lucky Planet” was issued on the Liberty label in 1971 and appears on CD for the very first time and it’s first re-issue since the original vinyl LP.Neil described THE WORLD as “More Pop Than Rock” and he received fellow BONZO’S member DENNIS COWAN on Bass, IAN WALLACE later to find fame with BOB DYLAN and with KING CRIMSON on drums and ROGER MCKEW previously a member of sixties beat combo “THE QUIET FIVE”.
