With the chart ascendancy of the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Glasgow as a music city is fimly hot news again. So Rev-Ola is proud to present a NEW album by one of the major players of the Glasgow music scene EUGENE KELLY.
As a member of the legendary VASELINES, as the leader of CAPTAIN AMERICA (remember the t-shirts modelled by NIRVANA on the front of NME?) and the Creation-signed EUGENIUS, Eugene has been there and done that, and continues to do so, most notoriously, NIRVANA covered a number of his songs, more of which continue to emerge with every reissue and boxset, COBAIN being a major EUGENE fan. More recently THE PARKINSONS covered his "Molly's Lips" as previously covered by NIRVANA as the song continues on it's way to becoming a standard (like maybe "Louie Louie"?). This new album, conceived during his stint touring with TEENAGE FANCLUB is in the best tradition of Glasgow melodic pop rock with a twist, the slightly oblique lyrical concerns not really what one would expect but par for the course with Eugene.
