While other '70s New York Punk bands may have garnered more attention none were as insanely brilliant and challenging as Television on their debut, Marquee Moon. It's difficult to understate the influence Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd's guitar work would have on a generation of musicians. Explosive, nervous and tense, tracks like "See No Evil" and the Richard Hell-inspired "Venus" combine ripping guitar work with lucid, forceful lyrics. Finally available on vinyl with new liner notes, everyone should own this classic album in its original format.
