Jones chose songs which all featured people's names in the title, and musically it was a richly varied selection from the folk rock of Dylan's "Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll", through the rock & roll of "Boney Moronie" and "Charlie Brown" to the country blues of "Nosher Burns" (this was a cover of Leadbelly's "Booger Burns", but when EMI heard Jones' version entitled "Bugger Burns" they made him cut a new vocal using the word Nosher instead! We've included the original and censored vocal takes here). Jones also managed to include a couple of his own songs for the first time, something producer John Burgess had not allowed on the first album. The bonus cuts include singles tracks and six unissued recordings from 1967, all cut for EMI. Keep an eye on the new release pages for details of the follow-up releases.
