The Small Faces underwent two distinctive phases during their career. At first they were the cheeky London mods that hit the charts with raunchy R&B numbers like 'Whatcha Gonna Do About It?'.
Then came the second phase, when they switched from Decca to Andrew Oldham's independent Immediate label. This coincided with the 1967 Summer of Love and increasing psychedelic influences on the group's music.
The 20 tracks on our compilation CD represent the Small Faces at a creative peak. It was a time when the late Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane were devising such magical hit songs as 'Here Come The Nice', 'Itchycoo Park' and the evocative 'Tin Soldier'.
As well as these sparkling Top 20 hits, there are many evocative album tracks and singles such as
'The Universal' and 'Afterglow (Of Your Love)'. These imaginative, warm hearted songs include a rare demo version of 'Me You And Us Too', to ensure that this collection is a fitting memorial to a legendary and much loved British group.
