WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
This collection of rare early 'live-in-the-studio' radio sessions from 1965 to 1967 capture the Spencer Davis Group at its peak featuring the unbelievably talented young Stevie Winwood (who hadn't even turned 18 yet in 1965!) on vocals, guitar and keyboards. Many of these recording sessions (like the BBC's "Saturday Club" hosted by Brian Matthews) relied on the know-how of radio engineers who had learned their trade during the big band era - often using just one mic and keeping the mixing to a minimum -and thus these sessions capture a rawer, more urgent sounding Spencer Davis Group than is heard on their official studio releases.
