The missing link between the NWOBHM and the rise of dark metal in the
late 80s, Swiss Celtic Frost released their first album, Morbid Tales, in
1984 just a few months after their formation, but incredibly Tom
Warrior's band already had very precise ideas on how to impress an
audience and make waves in the hard rock/HM scene. A source of
inspiration for many bands (Metallica, Sepultura, among others), CF
were in their own right, highly inspired by guitar mayhem trio Venom, for their bleak atmospheres and
break-neck speed, but CF's unique blend was really like no other. Originally released on Metal Blade,
Morbid Tales presents 8 incredible tracks that can undoubtedly be filed under avant-garde metal...
