The 28 year old Joe Colombo developed his particular slide technique playing special electrified Dobro guitars. His unique style combines electric blue phrasing with specific references to the delta-blues of Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Robert Johnson, and has a destructive energy worthy of vintage Rory Gallagher. Born and raised in Switzerland, Colombo spent a some time in the USA in 1996-97 during which time he composed a large portion of the songs on this album. His participation in numerous important Swiss blues festivals (Blues to Bop Festival, Piazza Blues Festival, BMG Luzerner Blues Session, etc.) have confirmed the extraordinary talents of the "George Thorogood made in Europe" and his rhythm section (a locomotive at top speed). Blues has often been called "The Devil's Music". Listen to Joe Colombo and you will understand why.
