What is it about post-industrial urban decay that makes the boys & girls of the Westernworld want to get their freak on? Whatever it is... Motor City natives Don & David Was wereno exception. The year was 1980 and the Was brothers had just assembled a deadly auraltask force (MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer, Mingus sideman Marcus Belgrave, and Eminemassociate Luis Resto, among others), which they would soon use to launch a booty andearth-shaking disco funk insurrection. One listen to the resulting LP, 1981's "Here Come TheFreaks" and you get the feeling that maybe it really was "morning in America"... Also includes their first single "WheelMe Out" / "Hello Operator" which put the band on the national radar.
