Swedish group Pandora released only one album, but Measures Of Time has the assurance of a band with a clear musical language. The record moves through melodic progressive rock with touches of symphonic colour, warm vocals, piano, Moog and guitar all working together without overwhelming the songs. Its sound is refined rather than flashy, with the instrumental passages serving the mood instead of becoming displays of technique.
What makes the album appealing is its balance of elegance and energy. The longer pieces give the band room to develop ideas gradually, while the shorter tracks keep the album grounded in memorable melodies and clear structures. There is a distinct Scandinavian clarity to the arrangements, but also enough late-60s psychedelic warmth and early-70s progressive ambition to make the music feel alive and personal. This Paisley Press edition restores one of the more graceful Swedish progressive rock recordings of the period.
