WELCOME TO LPCDREISSUES
The GTO's began as a bunch of wildly outrageous girls who frequented the Sunset Strip in LA and hung out with the bands that performed in the area during the late 1960s, f.i. the Magic Band and Mothers Of Invention. They first became the Cherry Sisters and then a spontaneous performance-art collective known as the Laurel Canyon Ballet Company. Two members were also babysitters in the Zappa household This may explain why Zappa, in 1969, produced the group, as one of his side projects. By then they had dchanged its name to GTO's, an acronym for Girls Together Outrageously. 'Permanent Damage' co-features a number of renowned musicians who happened to hang around in the LA 'freak scene' during the time.
